  Ilocano Ak: Ilocano’s Kannawidan Festival             Kannawidan Festival, among Ilocos Sur’s very historic festivals for so many years. Celebrated annual during the late January until February for weeks. It is held at Vigan City. But because of the pandemic the government of Ilocos Sur announced that there will be guidelines to be followed.             Unlike before the pandemic, everyone is allowed to come. But now below 15 years old and senior citizens are not allowed to ensure safety. In Trade and Food Fair as usual, one town one product which will give benefit to the sellers to have income and profit. Use of face mask is a must every time to enter the Kannawidan Grounds. The pageant “Saniata ti Ylocos Sur” will only be viewed on social media apps to avoid mass gathering. Kannawidan Summer Sports will be held the whole month of March but crew and participants must...

  Unbreakable Ilocano Culture             2020 was a very rough year. No celebrations like birthdays, weddings, cultural rites and others. 2020 really slowed the world. This 2021, Covid-19 restrictions were not that strict anymore. But even though before the restrictions were not that strict, there were people who cannot be stopped to celebrate.             This January 2021 no one is stopping the Ilocano Culture. Biguenos from all around the world celebrate the annual Feast of Vigan City. But still, we need to follow the safety protocols to avoid getting infected by the virus.             We have no choice. Health is wealth. Let’s hope that this pandemic end very soon so we can celebrate again the way it used to be.
