Ilocano Ak: Ilocano’s Kannawidan Festival

            Kannawidan Festival, among Ilocos Sur’s very historic festivals for so many years. Celebrated annual during the late January until February for weeks. It is held at Vigan City. But because of the pandemic the government of Ilocos Sur announced that there will be guidelines to be followed.

            Unlike before the pandemic, everyone is allowed to come. But now below 15 years old and senior citizens are not allowed to ensure safety. In Trade and Food Fair as usual, one town one product which will give benefit to the sellers to have income and profit. Use of face mask is a must every time to enter the Kannawidan Grounds. The pageant “Saniata ti Ylocos Sur” will only be viewed on social media apps to avoid mass gathering. Kannawidan Summer Sports will be held the whole month of March but crew and participants must undergo COVID-19 test. However there are no final decision yet for this event.

            We might not enjoy Kannawidan Festival the way it used to be. But we need to follow the guidelines to avoid being infected by the virus. All we need is patience and deep understanding.

    Hi Sean! I agree when you said that we might not enjoy Kannawidan Festival the way it used to be, but we need to follow the guidelines to avoid being infected by the virus and that all we need is patience and deep understanding! Good job bro!
